Board of Directors

Parents, volunteers, accountable in public.

Every person on this board is a volunteer. No one is paid. No one can approve support for their own child. The bylaws, the minutes, and every dollar in and out are published here. Titles marked interim are held until the board's first annual meeting, when officers are elected for full terms.

Two seats open for community members.

We're adding two directors who are not parents of eligible children, so at least one approver on every decision has no stake in it. We're looking for a CPA or finance professional, and a clinician, educator, or clergy member with experience around children and trauma. Tell us you're interested.

How the board governs.

Nobody is paid.Directors and officers serve without compensation. Out-of-pocket costs are reimbursed only with a receipt and advance approval.
Nobody approves their own child.A director's child is eligible on the same terms as every other child, and that director never votes on or approves a request for their own family.
Two signatures over $1,000.Any disbursement above $1,000 needs two officers in writing. The bank account is in the fund's own name and Tax ID.
Monthly public ledger.Every dollar in and every dollar out, by category, never by child, posted on this site.
Public bylaws and minutes.Posted here after adoption. The conflict-of-interest policy is signed annually by every director.
Trauma-trained.Every director completes NAMI TraumaInSight and the Trauma Informed Oregon modules. So does every volunteer who works with children. The trainings.
Independent voices. At least two directors with no eligible child, and a trauma-informed care advisory group that guides what we fund.

Documents. Bylaws, conflict-of-interest policy, and board minutes will be posted here once signed at the organizational meeting. The Articles of Incorporation are on file with the Oregon Secretary of State under Registry No. 264524597. IRS Tax ID letter (PDF).
