Privacy policy.
We are parents running a small nonprofit for our kids. We collect as little as we can, keep it private, and never publish a child's name, photo, or video without a signed parent release.

Who we are
Silver Rail Children's Fund is an Oregon public benefit nonprofit corporation (Oregon Registry No. 264524597, Tax ID 43-2607169) based in Bend, Oregon. This policy covers silverrailchildrensfund.org and the forms we link to from it. Questions go to hello@silverrailchildrensfund.org.
What we collect, and why
- Family registration. A parent or guardian's name, email, and phone; the child's name and grade; and, to confirm enrollment at Silver Rail on October 15, 2026, one ordinary piece of school paperwork, which a board member looks at and does not keep. We use this to know which children are eligible and to reach families about activities and support.
- Event sign-ups (for example, Pizza Day). Guardian name, email, how many kids and adults are coming, and whether the child is registered with the fund. Used only to run the event and manage capacity.
- Contact, volunteer, and business forms. Whatever you type into them, plus your email so we can reply.
- Newsletter. If you sign up for our newsletter, your email, optional first name, and whether you are a parent, neighbor, or business are stored in the fund's private Google Workspace and used only to send fund updates. We never sell or share the list. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or write hello@silverrailchildrensfund.org and we remove you the same day.
- Donations. Donations are processed by GoFundMe or by the bank or payment service shown at the time of giving, under their own privacy policies. We receive the donor name, amount, and any message, and use them to send receipts and thank-yous.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We never publish a child's name, photo, video, or story without a signed media release from the parent or guardian. Releases are specific and can be withdrawn at any time by emailing hello@. Any child's identifying information is seen only by the board members and committee members who need it to do their jobs.
- We never share a family's information with a business or provider beyond what is needed to pay for a child's activity (usually nothing more than a headcount or a guardian's first name for check-in).
- We do not run advertising, tracking pixels, or marketing analytics on this site.
Where information lives
Forms are Google Forms and their responses are stored in the fund's Google Workspace account, which is restricted to the board. Email to hello@ lives in that same account. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log standard server information such as IP addresses under its privacy statement. Fonts load from Google Fonts and some photos from Unsplash; those services may see your IP address when the page loads.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Embedded Google Forms, GoFundMe, and other third-party services may set their own cookies, governed by their policies.
How long we keep it
Registration records are kept for as long as a child is eligible for support (until their 25th birthday) or until the family asks us to remove them, whichever comes first. Event sign-ups are deleted or anonymized within 90 days after the event. Donation records are kept as long as the law requires for nonprofit accounting.
Your choices
Email hello@silverrailchildrensfund.org at any time to see what we have about you or your child, correct it, or have it deleted. We will respond within 30 days. Removing a registration means the child is no longer enrolled with the fund; you can always re-register later.
Children
Our forms are meant to be completed by a parent or guardian, not by a child. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted a form, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Significant changes will also be noted in the Transparency section of the home page.
